2 corinthians 8:7-9

There is a man that lives in Massachusetts that is a quadriplegic with cerebral palsy that has completed over 1,000 races, including marathons, duathlons, and triathlons (with 6 being Ironman competitions). His name is Rick Hoyt and with the gift of his dad, Dick Hoyt, he has been able to do it all. This story is inspirational in many ways, but the reason I am sharing this today is because of the gift that this father gives to his son.

Watch this video on the story (the audio is off a little bit at the beginning but then is better):

2 Corinthians 8:7-9 says But since you excel in everything-in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you-see that you also excel in this grace of giving. I am not commanding you, but I want to test the sincerity of your love by comparing it with the earnestness of others. For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.

Dick Hoyt has excelled in giving. Now we all might not be able to give a gift like Dick gives to his son, but we all can give gifts to others.

Ask God to put someone on your heart that you can give a gift to.
